ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notices on former prime minister and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s bail plea in cypher case.
As per details, three-member bench headed by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood comprising Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Ayesha Malik heard the case.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan through lawyer Hamid Khan appeared before the bench. He requested the court to adjourn the case as he wanted to amend the application following the yesterday’s Islamabad High Court’s decision accepting Imran Khan’s intra-court appeal against jail trail in cipher case.
However, the court said that it will hear the plea today.
Imran Khan’ lawyer Salman Safdar presented arguments in the case following which the court declared the bail plea admissible for a hearing and issued notices to federation and FIA.
The apex court adjourned the case for indefinite period.
It is pertinent to note that earlier on October 27, the Islamabad High Court rejected the bail appeal of Chairman PTI in the cypher case.
