Trump praises Pakistan for its efforts to support peace talks between the United States and Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Speaking to reporters in Washington, US President Donald Trump described Pakistan as a great country and appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal for their diplomatic role. He called both leaders outstanding personalities and thanked Pakistan for helping promote dialogue during the regional crisis.
Trump praises Pakistan at a time when global powers are trying to prevent further escalation in the Middle East. He said Pakistan played a positive part in encouraging communication and reducing tensions linked to Iran.
During the media interaction, Trump also spoke about recent developments involving Iran. He claimed Iranian forces targeted American naval vessels using missiles, drones, and small boats. According to him, US destroyers operating in the Strait of Hormuz remained safe despite the alleged attacks.
The US president further claimed that Iran’s earlier ruling system had collapsed and that the current structure was losing effectiveness. He added that Washington was now dealing with a third phase of leadership in Tehran.
Trump said Iran would eventually sign an agreement with the United States. He repeated that Tehran would never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
Earlier, in a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated that Iranian drones and small boats were destroyed near the Strait of Hormuz while American warships passed through the area without damage. He also warned that stronger action could follow if Iran refused to move toward an agreement.
As tensions continue in the region, Trump praises Pakistan for choosing diplomacy and supporting efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
