KARACHI: At least 16 people lost their lives, and dozens were injured in two separate accidents involving buses carrying pilgrims in the Sindh districts of Nawabshah and Khairpur.
According to police, the first accident occurred near Futuhal Zardari village on Amri Road, Nawabshah, where a van transporting pilgrims collided with a trailer. The crash resulted in six deaths and left ten others injured, who were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Reports suggest the pilgrims were traveling for the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
In another tragic incident, a passenger coach overturned on the National Highway near Ranipur, Khairpur, killing ten people and injuring 30 others. Rescue officials confirmed that at least seven of the injured are in critical condition. The ill-fated bus was traveling from Punjab to Sehwan Sharif.
Authorities have launched an investigation into both accidents, while emergency services continue to provide medical aid to the injured.
