ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad has suspended the Ali Amin Gandapur arrest warrant in a case involving arms and liquor. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appeared before Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti on Thursday. The case had been registered at Bhara Kahu Police Station.
At the start of the hearing, Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoorul Hassan, informed the court that the Peshawar High Court had already granted bail to the chief minister until July 3. He requested the magistrate to suspend the non-bailable arrest warrant issued earlier.
The magistrate then questioned when the accused would submit his written response under Section 342. CM Gandapur replied that he would provide his answers after the KP budget is presented. Accepting his explanation, the court suspended the Ali Amin Gandapur arrest warrant and adjourned the proceedings until July 2.
In a separate development, Gandapur also appeared before Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasr Minallah Baloch on the same day. This case pertains to an audio leak, for which the non-bailable arrest warrant had also been issued earlier. His appearance before the court resulted in the suspension of that arrest notice as well.
During the hearing, Gandapur’s lawyer again mentioned that the Peshawar High Court had approved protective bail for the chief minister. Gandapur informed the court that he was required to attend another legal proceeding scheduled for July 2. The judge responded that his presence on that date was mandatory for the formal indictment. The hearing was then postponed.
This audio leak case originated from a FIR registered at Golra Police Station. The leaked clip reportedly captured Ali Amin Gandapur asking questions about weapons, licenses, and individuals. The legal process continues to evolve as CM Gandapur faces multiple judicial summons in connection with both the audio scandal and the arms case.
