PESHAWAR: An officer of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while two terrorists were killed during a gun battle between security forces and terrorists in the North Waziristan district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, stated the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release.
According to ISPR, the gun battle occurred between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan on Tuesday.
During the fierce engagement, Pakistani troops effectively targeted the terrorists’ location, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists, ISPR reported.
However, during the intense exchange of fire, Captain Muhammad Osama bin Arshad, aged 24 and a resident of Rawalpindi district, led his troops from the front, fought gallantly, and made the ultimate sacrifice by embracing Shahadat, ISPR stated.
A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” ISPR emphasized.
