In a video message, Barrister Gohar, Chairman of PTI, informed party workers that the protest scheduled for October 15, 2024, has been postponed. Speaking to Khyber News, Barrister Gohar explained that PTI leaders have received assurances from authorities that Imran Khan will receive necessary medical care.
Previously, it was reported that the jail administration had barred Imran Khan from meeting with his medical team and party leaders since October 3. This situation had caused concern among PTI workers and leaders regarding Imran Khan’s health. However, authorities have now assured that a medical team will examine him today.
The decision to postpone the protest was made in light of the ongoing SCO Summit in Islamabad and upon request from PTI’s alliance parties. The PTI Apex Committee agreed to halt the protest after assurances from the government.
Additionally, Barrister Gohar mentioned that the caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, suggested a medical team from PIMS Hospital should examine Imran Khan. After discussions with other party leaders, it was decided to proceed with the examination by the PIMS medical team.
