Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, the Field Marshal was given a detailed briefing on the current security landscape in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The briefing covered ongoing counterterrorism operations, measures related to border management, and the readiness of military formations stationed across the province.
Asim Munir Praises Troop Morale and Preparedness
While at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, CDF Munir spoke highly of the morale, discipline, and professional conduct displayed by officers and soldiers stationed in the region. He acknowledged their continued dedication to protecting the country and its citizens.
The army chief instructed all formations to stay alert and uphold the highest levels of operational readiness at all times, ISPR reported. He further stressed that the armed forces, backed by the unwavering support of the nation, remain firmly committed to eliminating terrorism and securing long-term peace and stability throughout Pakistan.
Tribute Paid at Yadgar-e-Shuhada
As part of his visit, Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha, honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending the country and combating terrorism. He affirmed that their sacrifices would remain permanently etched in the nation’s memory.
Upon his arrival in Peshawar, the Field Marshal was formally received by the Commander of Peshawar Corps, marking the beginning of his visit to the garrison city.
