A captain was among seven soldiers martyred when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on a security forces vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, the military’s media wing reported on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IED attack resulted in the martyrdom of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and six other soldiers.
Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, 26, hailed from Kasur and exemplified courage and commitment. Scheduled to marry on June 19, 2024, his untimely death leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and the entire nation.
The sacrifice extends beyond Captain Faraz to include Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, 50, from Skardu. With 31 years of dedicated service, he leaves behind a grieving family consisting of his wife, two sons, and five daughters.
Lance Naik Hussain Ali Khan, 36, from Ghazar, dedicated 14 years to serving Pakistan. His valor and sacrifice reflect the resilience of our armed forces.
Similarly, Sepoy Manzoor, 27, from Gilgit, served for six years in defense of the nation. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters, symbolizing the profound sacrifice borne by the families of our soldiers.
Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, 34, from Ganche, devoted 13 years to safeguarding the country. His legacy endures through his wife, two daughters, and two sons.
Sepoy Asadullah, 33, from Multan, served for 14 years, leaving behind a wife and son. Sepoy Rashid Mehmood, 31, from Rawalpindi, served for 13 years and is mourned by his parents and siblings.
The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any terrorists in the area, and the perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice.
“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices by our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” added the ISPR.
