KARACHI: Careem has introduced its ‘Flexi’ car type in Karachi. This new feature allows customers and Captains to set their preferred fare for rides. Following its successful launches in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan, Flexi Ride has received an overwhelmingly positive response from both users and Captains.
When booking a Flexi Ride, customers will see a suggested fare that they can adjust up or down. The adjusted fare will be sent to multiple Captains in the vicinity, who can either accept the fare or submit a counter-bid. Once a match is found, the customer is assigned a Captain, and the ride begins.
The Flexi Ride service will offer four categories: Flexi GO, Flexi GO Mini, Flexi Bikes, and Flexi Riksha. While Flexi Ride will be available in GO and GO Mini categories, the GO Premium category will remain unchanged with its current variable fare model.
Imran Saleem, General Manager of Ride Hailing at Careem Pakistan, expressed enthusiasm about launching Flexi Ride in Karachi. He stated, “We are thrilled to bring Flexi Ride to Karachi, following its successful reception in other cities. The service provides customers with the flexibility to set their own fares while ensuring a high level of safety and a superior experience.”
Saleem also highlighted that Flexi Ride has positively impacted Captains’ earnings and work flexibility. He added, “We believe this service will enhance the convenience and enjoyment for both customers and Captains.”
With Flexi Ride, Careem aims to redefine the ride-hailing experience by giving both customers and Captains greater control over fares while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.
