The CTD operations in Punjab have intensified in recent days. According to official sources, the Counter Terrorism Department carried out 189 intelligence-based raids in several cities. These operations led to the arrest of 10 suspected militants. Among them were two key operatives, Badal Singh and Suraj Singh. They were captured during a targeted operation in Rawalpindi.
Explosives and sensitive materials were found in their possession. Both men are said to be residents of Nankana Sahib. The CTD operations in Punjab also extended to cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi.
In addition to these missions, officials confirmed 2,053 combing operations were carried out this week alone. These searches resulted in the arrest of 263 individuals. During these efforts, over 82,000 people were questioned by the authorities. This surge in CTD operations in Punjab highlights a serious crackdown on terror threats across the region.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, spoke to the media in Nankana Sahib. He stated that Pakistan has always stood for peace and stability in the region. He stressed that religious minorities enjoy full freedom and protection under the law.
Sardar Yousaf emphasized that the government deeply values the sentiments of Sikh pilgrims. As part of ongoing initiatives, 100 rooms of international standard are being built at Gurdwara Janam Asthan. These rooms will accommodate Sikh pilgrims from around the globe.
He also revealed that 10,000 children from Sikh and Hindu backgrounds are receiving monthly stipends. The government, he added, is actively restoring gurdwaras across the country. One major part of this initiative is the upcoming restoration of Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh. Work on this project will begin soon.
The combined efforts of CTD operations in Punjab and government outreach to minorities reflect Pakistan’s dual strategy. On one side, it is crushing terrorist networks. On the other, it is promoting peace and inclusivity. These anti-terror actions and peace efforts go hand-in-hand to secure the nation’s future.
