ISLAMABAD: A full court meeting convened by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to discuss the reserved seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has commenced.
According to sources, the Chief Justice summoned the 13-judge full court earlier on Wednesday. Attendees include Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha A. Malik, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The bench will decide whether the reserved seats will be allocated to the SIC, other parties, or if the issue will be referred to parliament for resolution.
It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, after concluding the hearing, the bench reserved its decision, with the Chief Justice indicating he would consult with the bench members before announcing the verdict. Court staff confirmed to the media that the decision would not be announced on Tuesday.
It remains uncertain whether the verdict will be announced today or at a later date.
