Mashhad: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), held high-level meetings in Iraq. He discussed vital matters, including defense cooperation, with the Iraqi Prime Minister and Defense Minister.
According to the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Mirza is on an official visit to Iraq. During his trip, he met with key Iraqi leaders, including Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, the Defense Minister, the Interior Minister, and the Chief of Defense Forces.
The discussions focused on security, defense cooperation, and the regional situation. Both sides emphasized their shared commitment to boosting military collaboration and strengthening defense ties between the two nations.
At the headquarters of the Iraqi Armed Forces, General Mirza was welcomed with a guard of honor by a well-dressed military unit. The ISPR reported that the ceremony reflected the strong respect between the armed forces of both countries.
The Iraqi leadership praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism. They also commended the professionalism and dedication of Pakistani military personnel, highlighting their role in promoting peace and stability.
