Swat: Unknown assailants carried out a hand grenade attack on the house of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister Dr Amjad Ali in the Shamozai area of Swat on Tuesday, police said.
According to officials, the grenade exploded outside the residence, causing partial damage to the house. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.
Following the attack, District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Muhammad Umar reached the spot and reviewed the situation. Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to trace those involved.
‘An Attempt to Silence Me,’ Says Dr Amjad Ali
Reacting to the incident, Provincial Minister Dr Amjad Ali said the attack was a deliberate attempt to silence his voice.
“This attack is meant to intimidate me, but I will not step back from speaking the truth under any circumstances,” he said.
Police officials said evidence has been collected from the site and efforts are underway to identify the attackers.
