Heavy rains in Balochistan have left a trail of destruction across several districts, with at least 18 people losing their lives and many others injured. The situation has now shifted as cold and dry weather returns to Quetta and nearby regions after days of intense rainfall.
Officials say the victims include a large number of children, highlighting the severity of the disaster. Several others suffered injuries during rain-related incidents as strong downpours hit different parts of the province.
Heavy rains in Balochistan affected multiple districts, including Zhob, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Jafarabad, Harnai, Kech, Kachi, Qila Abdullah, and Musakhel. Many families faced serious losses as their homes could not withstand the force of the weather.
According to initial reports, dozens of houses were completely destroyed, while many others suffered partial damage. People in remote areas struggled the most, as access to help remained limited.
Heavy rains in Balochistan also caused damage to livestock, with lightning strikes killing dozens of sheep and goats in Musakhel. This has added to the financial burden on already affected families who depend on livestock for their livelihood.
As the weather clears, authorities continue to assess the damage and support affected communities. Residents now face the challenge of rebuilding their homes and recovering from the losses.
