RAWALPINDI – Authorities have decided to formally arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan in connection with four more cases related to the September 28 incident.
Investigation teams reached Adiala Jail to carry out the official arrest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader. Imran Khan will appear in court today (Monday) after completing his physical remand in the New Town police case.
The investigative teams plan to proceed with his arrest in all four cases on the same day. After the arrests, a request will be filed to send him to prison under judicial remand.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted a five-day physical remand for Imran Khan on November 21. This remand was later extended by six more days. The extension was granted as part of the investigation into the vandalism that occurred during the September 28 incident.
The process of formal arrest and subsequent court appearances marks another significant development in the legal proceedings surrounding the PTI founder.
