ISLAMABAD: Khyber TV Network emerged victorious in the Media Cricket League 2025 held in Islamabad. The final match took place at the Shalimar Cricket Ground, featuring a thrilling contest between Khyber TV Network and Jang Group.
Jang Group batted first and posted a score of 148 runs with the loss of 3 wickets. In reply, Khyber TV Network chased the target successfully, scoring 152 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets. This impressive performance secured their championship win in the league.
Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, praised the organizers for the successful arrangement of the Media Cricket League. He called the tournament a positive step toward promoting engagement and sportsmanship among media organizations.
Speaking to the media, Tarar highlighted the vibrant atmosphere in the federal capital during the tape ball tournament. He congratulated Khyber TV Network on their remarkable victory and commended Jang Group for finishing as runners-up. Tarar also acknowledged the outstanding efforts of both teams during the final match.
The minister encouraged all media channels to organize similar events in the future. He assured full support from the Ministry of Information for initiatives aimed at fostering sportsmanship and unity.
Tarar announced that February 8 will be celebrated as the “Day of Development and Progress.” On this day, high achievers across various fields will be recognized and awarded.
He also stressed the importance of promoting sportsmanship in all aspects of life. According to Tarar, tolerance and positive attitudes are essential for ensuring Pakistan’s economic and political stability.
