In a distressing case that has shocked the community, Shigar police successfully recovered a 10-year-old boy who had been allegedly kidnapped by a family friend over an unpaid debt. The boy, identified as Kabir Ali, was taken by Rehmanullah, a resident of Chilas, after spending a night at the boy’s home.
The alarming incident came to light when Kabir Ali’s mother, a resident of Ghizer currently residing in Hashupi, Shigar, reported the matter to the Shigar City Police Station. According to the mother, Rehmanullah, who had visited their home, left in the morning with her son under the pretense of taking him to the market. However, the suspect transported the boy to Skardu and later to Chilas, far from his home.
In a shocking turn, Rehmanullah contacted the family, informing them that Kabir Ali would not be returned until the family paid back a debt that was owed. The family’s grief and shock prompted them to file an official complaint with the police.
Following the complaint, the Shigar police registered a case and immediately set up a special team to locate and rescue the child. With the help of a local jirga, the police were able to track down the boy and reunite him with his family.
However, despite the successful rescue, the suspect, Rehmanullah, has not been arrested yet. Investigations into the case are ongoing, and authorities are determined to bring the kidnapper to justice. This disturbing incident highlights the lengths to which some individuals may go over financial disputes and underscores the critical need for swift justice in such cases.
