Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared that all political parties are standing firmly with the Pakistan Armed Forces. She made this statement during an event held at the Expo Centre in Lahore on Tuesday.
Speaking to the audience, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the government must reach out to people—rather than making people chase the government. She said she didn’t like to see the poor lining up with bags for flour. “Alhamdulillah, three million families have received food rations directly at their doorsteps,” she proudly stated.
Maryam Nawaz urged government officials to view their positions as an opportunity for service. “The Almighty has selected you to serve the nation. Use this chance to earn both respect in this world and reward in the hereafter,” she advised.
Highlighting Pakistan’s defense, Maryam Nawaz said the country possesses nuclear capability. She asked, “Who gave us the atomic bomb?” Then she answered her own question: “Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power.”
She added that all political forces have supported the military. “Our army stands like a solid iron wall. Pakistan’s defense remains unbreakable. While threats from India continue, we remain united with our forces.”
Turning to economic issues, Maryam Nawaz said that the minimum wage should be fixed at Rs37,000. Although this had been announced earlier, she pointed out, it had not yet been enforced.
She also addressed inflation and food prices. According to Maryam Nawaz, the price of roti had dropped to Rs12 from Rs24 or even Rs30. She clarified that this drop was not due to Punjab having extra funds. “All provinces receive equal shares from the NFC Award,” she explained.
Maryam Nawaz used her speech to project a clear message: social service, economic fairness, and national unity are the cornerstones of her governance.
