ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader Omar Ayub has responded to a notice from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding a ‘controversial’ video uploaded on PTI founder Imran Khan’s former Twitter account, X.
Omar Ayub has requested a copy of the Hamood-Ur-Rehman Commission report from the agency.
Additionally, Ayub has declared his intention to challenge the FIA notice both in Parliament and in court, describing it as “vague, dubious, and illegal.” He asserts that the notice pertains to the Dhaka collapse issue, for which a commission was established by the government.
Omar Ayub emphasizes that the government never dismissed the commission’s report or its contents, which are available in the Cabinet Division.
Ayub accuses the FIA of targeting PTI leadership out of revenge and insists that a copy of the Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission report should be provided to him to prepare his response.
Meanwhile, the FIA has issued summons to top PTI members, including Omar Ayub, Barrister Gohar Khan, and Rauf Hassan, for questioning regarding Imran Khan’s controversial social media post.
The inquiry, led by the FIA’s Cyber Wing, centers on the alleged illegal dissemination of a provocative video on Khan’s social media account, which referenced the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report and sparked public unrest.
