Multan: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed that 2,870 Pakistani nationals were deported from various countries during 2025, mainly due to visa violations and illegal activities.
Speaking in Multan, FIA Director Atta-ur-Rehman said that Saudi Arabia accounted for the highest number of deportations, where 87 Pakistanis were expelled on charges of begging.
He said that the misuse of work visas has emerged as a major issue, resulting in the deportation of 707 Pakistanis from different countries.
Visa Violations Damaging Pakistan’s Image
The FIA director warned that violating visa rules not only harms Pakistan’s international image but also leads to strict legal action against individuals involved.
He further disclosed that seven women were deported for involvement in immoral activities, while 61 Pakistanis were sent back after completing prison sentences in drug-related cases abroad.
FIA Awareness Drive to Reduce Deportations
Atta-ur-Rehman said the FIA is actively working to educate overseas Pakistanis about legal employment opportunities and the importance of complying with immigration laws.
“The aim is to reduce deportations and protect the dignity of Pakistani citizens abroad,” he added.
Officials believe that greater awareness and strict compliance with visa regulations can help prevent such incidents and improve Pakistan’s global standing.
