Pakistan Day 2026 was observed across the country on Monday with a spirit of patriotism, though celebrations remained simple this year. The day began with a 21-gun salute in Lahore and Peshawar, where the atmosphere echoed with slogans of national pride and unity.
Unlike previous years, Pakistan Day 2026 did not feature large public gatherings or parades. Instead, the focus stayed on modest flag-hoisting ceremonies, reflecting a more restrained approach while keeping the national spirit alive.
In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted that Pakistan Day 2026 reminds the nation of the power of unity. He said the country has strengthened its defence, achieved nuclear capability, and successfully tackled terrorism through long and difficult efforts.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also shared his thoughts on Pakistan Day 2026, pointing to the importance of balanced diplomacy amid rising tensions in the Middle East. He said Pakistan continues to act responsibly on the global stage. He added that economic indicators show steady improvement and that the country is moving towards sustainable growth despite challenges.
The prime minister praised the armed forces for their strong response to threats during Operation Bunyan Al-Marsoos. He paid tribute to soldiers and law enforcement personnel for their sacrifices. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political and diplomatic support for the people of occupied Kashmir.
Senior military leadership extended congratulations to the nation on Pakistan Day 2026, calling it a symbol of faith, determination, and hope. Officials noted that the fight against terrorism is ongoing, but the country stands united in facing these challenges.
A separate change of guards ceremony took place at Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore, where a Pakistan Air Force contingent took over duties. The event added a traditional touch to Pakistan Day 2026, honoring the country’s history and legacy.
Pakistan Day 2026 once again highlighted the importance of unity, resilience, and a shared vision for a stronger future.
