ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has finalised its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, sources confirmed on Tuesday.
According to insiders, former captain Babar Azam has been included in the squad, while Haris Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan have been left out of the final selection — a move that has surprised many cricket fans.
The sources further revealed that Khawaja Nafay has earned a place in the World Cup squad. The batting lineup will include Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, and Shadab Khan.
Among the all-rounders and bowlers, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, and Usman Khan are part of the squad. The pace attack will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, whose inclusion is said to be confirmed.
Additionally, Usman Tariq and Salman Mirza have also been selected for the World Cup. Wasim Jr, Abdul Samad, and Hasan Ali have been named among the reserve players.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to make an official announcement soon.
