ISLAMABAD: Political leaders across Pakistan have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Bannu cantonment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that left all eight terrorists dead and martyred eight soldiers. o
President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for their timely action and paid tribute to their efforts in preventing significant loss. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorist elements.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack and honored the martyred personnel of the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC). He extended condolences to the soldiers’ families, emphasizing their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi echoed similar sentiments, praising the bravery of the security personnel who foiled the terrorists’ plans. He stressed the importance of national unity in combating terrorism and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Privatization and Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also condemned the attack.
Earlier today, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, reported that ten terrorists were killed and eight soldiers martyred during the failed terrorist attempt at Bannu Cantonment. Security forces successfully prevented the breach by the terrorists, who detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the cantonment’s perimeter wall.
