Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has undergone major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital in Lahore.
Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb shared the update in a statement on social media.
However, she did not specify the nature of the surgery. According to Maryam Aurangzeb, the Punjab Chief Minister has been shifted home after the surgery. She said Maryam Nawaz is now recovering after the medical procedure.
Maryam Aurangzeb thanked Allah and shared that the Chief Minister continued to monitor official matters even during Eid.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that Maryam Nawaz directly monitored several provincial matters from the hospital on Eid day.
These included security arrangements, cleanliness operations and other administrative affairs across Punjab. She said the Chief Minister remained connected with the provincial administration despite undergoing surgery.
The senior minister did not mention what type of surgery Maryam Nawaz underwent. No further medical details were shared in the statement.
Officials said the Chief Minister has now been moved from the hospital to her residence.
