LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced plans to establish 10 model bazaars across Lahore during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak to facilitate citizens with quality goods at affordable prices.
A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza reviewed the arrangements for these special bazaars. According to the briefing, each tehsil in Lahore will have a model bazaar consisting of 10 shops. Seven of these shops will offer fruits, vegetables, pulses, spices, and other essential items, while the remaining three will be designated for meat.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that price lists will be determined by the market committee, ensuring that shopkeepers receive goods at wholesale rates to keep prices reasonable for consumers.
Special counters will be set up for women, senior citizens, and general shoppers to enhance convenience. Additionally, cleanliness and parking facilities will be ensured at all locations.
DC Lahore has directed that all arrangements be completed by February 24, ahead of the holy month of Ramazan.
