RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic plan for the upcoming Test matches between Pakistan and England at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, starting October 24, 2024.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, special arrangements have been made along alternate routes during the matches. Over 370 traffic officers and personnel will be deployed for this purpose.
Five designated parking zones for spectators will be available, along with a shuttle service organized by district authorities to transport fans from parking areas to the stadium.
During the team’s arrival and departure, Murree Road will be fully closed from Faizabad to Double Road. Vehicles from Islamabad will be redirected from Faizabad to the Expressway, while those traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad can use 6th Road and Saidpur Road for entry into the capital.
Additionally, traffic from Ghausia Chowk will be redirected via Farooq-e-Azam Road and Kuri Road, while Stadium Road will remain closed from 9th Avenue to Double Road during match hours.
For fans arriving from Islamabad via 9th Avenue, traffic will be directed through Faizabad Expressway, IJP Road, and Pindora Chungi to access Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, those traveling from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad can use Murree Road via Faizabad.
