ISPR says its forces have killed 32 terrorists linked to India-backed militant networks during a single 24-hour stretch of operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the armed forces’ media office, announced the toll on Wednesday. According to the statement, coordinated operations are underway across both provinces to clear out fighters from Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, along with anyone assisting them.
Khyber District Operation Nets Highest Toll
The bulk of the terrorists killed in Pakistan came from a single operation in Khyber district. Acting on intelligence, troops carried out area-clearing and precision raids overnight between July 28 and 29, engaging militant positions directly. Twenty-four fighters from Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in that action alone.
A separate operation unfolded in Nushki district, Balochistan, where forces engaged Fitna al-Hindustan militants after receiving intelligence on their location. Eight terrorists were killed there following what ISPR described as a fierce exchange.
In both provinces, troops seized and destroyed weapons, ammunition stockpiles, and improvised explosive devices belonging to the militants. ISPR noted that clearance operations remain ongoing, with forces working to root out any remaining India-sponsored elements in the affected areas.
A Pattern of Violence Across Both Provinces
The latest terrorists killed in Pakistan figures come against a backdrop of rising militancy documented by independent researchers. A recent study from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) identified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan as the country’s two most volatile regions during the second quarter of 2026.
Together, the provinces accounted for roughly 96 percent of all fatalities tied to militant violence nationwide. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone recorded 475 deaths, or about 61 percent of the total, while Balochistan saw 265 deaths, making up around 34 percent.
The frequency of attacks followed a similar split. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa logged 151 violent incidents, roughly 57 percent of the quarter’s total, while Balochistan reported 94 incidents, or about 35 percent, together representing the overwhelming majority of unrest recorded nationwide.
With operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan continuing, security officials indicate further updates are likely as clearance efforts progress in both provinces.
