KARACHI: A woman was allegedly killed by her brothers in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area on Friday.
The incident occurred after a dispute arose over her plans to marry for the third time, following the deaths of her previous two husbands. Police recovered a 30-bore pistol and two shells from the scene, and further investigation is underway. The woman leaves behind eight children.
In a separate incident on July 22, a young couple who had contracted a free-will marriage was found dead in their home in Karachi’s Manghopir area.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West, Hafeezur Rehman Bugti, reported that the couple, identified as Adil and Sidra, were discovered with gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple, who had married a few months prior, were living in hiding in Sultanabad.
It was alleged that the girl’s family located them and her brothers subsequently opened fire, resulting in the deaths of both individuals. The SSP confirmed the double murder as an honor killing and stated that the police are continuing their investigation.
