Accountability Strengthened After Verdict Against Faiz Hamid is a major point of discussion across the country today, and the remarks by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi have added even more weight to the debate. The Governor said that the verdict against former DG ISI Lt Gen retd Faiz Hamid will help strengthen the accountability process and bring more clarity to how institutions work. He shared these views during an interview on Hum News, explaining that the case was detailed and lengthy, not something decided overnight.
Kundi noted that the accountability process took months, and he called it a strong step inside the military institution itself. He said it shows that no one is above the law and that this decision will stop people from taking illegal routes in the future. He linked a clean accountability system with national stability and said that the country cannot move forward until reward and punishment are fixed in the right way. He warned that if those behind the events of May 9 are not punished, even bigger issues may occur later.
While talking about politics, Kundi said he does not support banning political parties. He said the government does not want such steps, but when a party creates a crisis on its own, the state has limited options left. He also said that taking guidance from convicted people cannot be a way to run national affairs. He reminded viewers that other political parties have faced tough times too, but they did not choose the same path.
Addressing the situation between the province and the federation, the Governor said that the matter of Governor’s Rule depends entirely on the actions of the KP government. If the provincial government works with the federation, then things stay smooth. He also said that Parliament is the main place for political talks and that dialogue should take place there for the sake of the system.
Accountability Strengthened After Verdict Against Faiz Hamid remains a clear reflection of the ongoing debate around law, politics, and stability in Pakistan, and Governor Kundi’s comments add an important perspective to the current national conversation.
