ISLAMABAD: The FIA Cyber Crime Circle has arrested a suspect for spreading hate and false propaganda on social media during the Jaffar Express incident. The accused, identified as Haider Saeed, was allegedly involved in running a malicious online campaign against state institutions.
According to the FIA Cyber Crime Circle, the suspect shared provocative posts and promoted content in support of outlawed organizations. Authorities stated that he deliberately incited public unrest through misleading information.
Digital evidence has been recovered from the suspect. The agency has registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The FIA Cyber Crime Circle confirmed that the content shared by the accused was highly inflammatory and dangerous to public order.
Investigators revealed that Haider Saeed falsely claimed over 200 soldiers were martyred in the Bolan attack. These fake claims were widely circulated on social media to create panic and distrust among the public.
The arrest took place during a raid in Bani Gala. His social media accounts have now been taken into custody for detailed analysis. The FIA Cyber Crime Circle is closely examining all digital activities linked to the suspect.
The accused faces serious charges under Sections 9 and 10 of PECA. These sections relate to cyber terrorism and inciting hatred against the state. Officials say that the online material shared by him aimed to damage national unity and provoke hostility.
Authorities emphasized that action against digital provocateurs is part of a broader crackdown. The FIA Cyber Crime Circle remains committed to tackling digital extremism and safeguarding public discourse.
Investigations are still underway. More arrests could follow if additional accomplices or links to banned outfits are found. The FIA Cyber Crime Circle is also urging the public to report any suspicious online activities that spread hate or promote extremist narratives.
