LONDON: Former anchor and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan has safely arrived in London after fleeing Pakistan. He shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), thanking former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Qasim Suri, for assisting him in his journey.
Imran Riaz’s family confirmed to Geo News that he had reached London safely and expressed that he would return to Pakistan once the conditions became safer. Riaz emphasized the importance of navigating through danger zones to leave his home country, rather than accepting safer options offered through special planes.
In his tweet, he expressed gratitude for standing firm against injustice and enduring hardships, including severe torture, multiple arrests, and various legal cases. “I could not even go to perform Hajj but remained patient. I will return to Pakistan after fulfilling some important responsibilities assigned to me,” he wrote.
Imran Riaz had gone missing for several months in 2023 before being recovered in September. He thanked Qasim Suri for his guidance and revealed that he had left Pakistan through a land route, facing numerous challenges, including wild animal attacks and dangerous conditions during his journey.
Riaz also addressed allegations of spreading misinformation. In an earlier interview with Geo News, he admitted that he was human and capable of sharing “fake news,” but emphasized that he deleted such content when pointed out.
Recently, the FIA Cybercrime Circle named eight individuals involved in sharing doctored images of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, which were allegedly sent by Shehbaz Gill and Imran Riaz.
