ISLAMABAD: Federal authorities have officially approved winter vacations for schools and colleges in the federal capital, Islamabad.
The Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued an official notification, detailing the scheduled winter break for educational institutions from December 23 to December 31.
With a cold wave affecting various parts of the country, including the capital, officials have also revealed revised school timings for both urban and rural areas. The FDE specified that these adjusted timings will be in effect until January 31, 2024.
In line with the directive, schools operating in single shifts will conduct classes from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes ending at 12:30 pm.
For schools with double shifts, the morning session will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and Friday classes will conclude at 12:30 pm. The evening shift will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes starting at 2:30 pm after Jumma prayer.
This comprehensive approach aims to provide an organized and adjusted schedule for both students and educational institutions amid the current winter conditions.
