Rail travel linking Quetta with other parts of the country has been halted for a day, as railway officials cited security concerns behind the decision.
According to railway sources, the Jaffar Express that was due to leave Quetta for Peshawar today will not run as scheduled. At the same time, the Peshawar-bound service heading toward Quetta will be held at Jacobabad instead of continuing its full route.
Why the Jaffar Express Was Suspended
Officials from the railway department explained that the temporary halt was ordered after reviewing the current security climate in the region. They noted that authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation while trying to minimize inconvenience for commuters.
Railway sources further stated that regular operations along the route will pick back up once conditions on the ground are deemed safe again. Until then, the suspension of the Jaffar Express is expected to remain in place as a precautionary step.
