Peshawar (Hassan Ali Shah) – Khyber TV Peshawar aired a special live morning show to discuss the historic defence agreement recently signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The program was broadcast not only in Pakistan but also in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan, and several European countries.
The show was hosted by Meena Shams and featured a panel of guests including Zaki-ur-Rehman, Kamran Jan, Muhammad Waseem, and Jamshed Ali Khan.
Zaki-ur-Rehman welcomed the agreement as a landmark step, stating that Pakistan’s military strength and strategic importance are now being recognised at the global level. He added that the deal will further consolidate relations between Islamabad and Riyadh.
Kamran Jan termed the pact timely, recalling how Pakistan’s armed forces and air force gave a befitting response to Indian aggression in May. He noted that the move surprised not only India but also many Islamic countries. He also drew parallels with NATO’s defence arrangements.
Muhammad Waseem, citing reports from NNI, Al Jazeera, and BBC, said that international military and political analysts have described the Pakistan-Saudi pact as a major blow to Arab reliance on the United States. He added that Qatar and other Islamic nations could follow suit in the near future by entering similar agreements with Pakistan.
Jamshed Ali Khan stressed that the pact is also deeply significant for overseas Pakistanis, particularly those who have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for decades with their families. He said the agreement reflects recognition of Pakistan’s military strength and the trust it enjoys from the Kingdom.
The program also featured the patriotic song Pak Dosti, along with a special Arabic-language video that was prepared for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation during their official reception in Saudi Arabia.
