Pakistan’s security forces have killed 49 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations carried out jointly with police over the past several days, the military’s media wing announced.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the raids targeted militant hideouts in multiple regions as part of the country’s ongoing campaign against armed groups operating along its borders.
Balochistan Operations Target Fitna al-Hindustan
ISPR reported that ten intelligence-based operations were conducted in the Balochistan districts of Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar, and Panjgur. These raids resulted in the deaths of 37 militants linked to Fitna al-Hindustan, a group the military says operates under Indian sponsorship.
Security personnel recovered and destroyed a large cache of weapons, explosives, and remote detonation devices during the Balochistan raids, ISPR said.
North Waziristan and Khyber Operations
Separately, several intelligence-based operations were carried out in Banu, North Waziristan, Kurram, and Khyber districts. Twelve militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, another group the military links to Indian backing, were killed in these operations.
Troops recovered explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles during the raids, according to the ISPR statement.
Part of Ongoing Anti-Terrorism Campaign
ISPR said the latest round of strikes forms part of a continuous counter-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian-backed proxies, including Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, from Pakistani soil.
The military’s media wing added that attempts to destabilize the country’s peace and security had been effectively thwarted, and that security forces remain firm and unwavering in their commitment to defending Pakistan’s borders.
ISPR further stated that sanitization operations are continuing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining Indian-backed militants, and that the broader anti-terrorism campaign will continue until what it described as the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.
