ISLAMABAD — A senior Pakistani security official briefed media influencers on Friday, presenting Pakistan’s assessment of India’s internal situation, regional policies and security challenges.
During the Pakistan security briefing on India, security officials claimed that New Delhi is attempting to divert attention from its domestic issues by creating instability in the region, particularly in Pakistan.
According to the briefing, Indian leaders are unwilling to acknowledge changing regional realities. Security officials alleged that the country’s growing religious extremism and intolerance have weakened its secular identity and increased internal divisions.
Officials also criticised the Hindutva ideology, claiming it has influenced India’s political and security policies. They argued that the country’s expansionist ambitions and domestic challenges are contributing to regional tensions.
The briefing further claimed that Muslims and other religious minorities in India face increasing discrimination and that restrictions on freedom of expression and media have intensified.
Speaking about Indian-administered Kashmir, security officials alleged that the territory remains under heavy military deployment and accused India of using allegations against Pakistan to divert attention from the situation there. They also claimed India has relied on alleged false flag operations, an allegation that New Delhi has consistently denied.
Security officials said a stable, prosperous and moderate Pakistan is viewed by India’s leadership as a strategic challenge. They alleged that Indian political leaders and sections of the media continue to promote narratives against Pakistan and its armed forces.
The briefing also claimed that some leaders of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee were acting in line with an Indian agenda. Officials reiterated that Pakistan would continue to safeguard its national interests and would not be intimidated by external pressure.
