Indian tennis player Sania Mirza’s father has officially confirmed his daughter’s divorce from former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik.
This announcement follows Shoaib Malik’s revelation of his second marriage to Pakistani actor Sana Javed in Karachi.
Shoaib and Sania, who married in April 2010, have been living separately amid speculation about their relationship.
Sania’s father, Imran Mirza, disclosed that Sania initiated “khula,” exercising the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce.
Allegedly, Sania was dissatisfied with Shoaib’s relationships with other women.
Despite parting ways, the couple is committed to co-parenting their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik. Shoaib and Sania, known for their co-hosting of The Mirza Malik Show on Spotify, continue their personal and professional journeys separately.
