PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s security forces successfully intercepted and killed three terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Dir district, northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.
According to ISPR, on the night of July 21-22, security forces detected the movement of three terrorists near the border.
“After surrounding the infiltrators, security forces engaged them effectively. Following an intense exchange of fire, all three terrorists were eliminated,” ISPR reported.
Pakistan has consistently urged the Interim Afghan government to enhance border management on their side to prevent terrorist activities against Pakistan, ISPR emphasized. The statement reiterated expectations for Afghanistan to fulfill its responsibilities in preventing terrorist use of Afghan territory against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their commitment to safeguarding borders and eradicating terrorism within the country.
