BANNU: At least eight terrorists including two commanders were killed in an intelligence based operation in Bannu on Thursday.
According to sources, the security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation against terrorists in Janikhel area of the Bannu district. The sources said that eight terrorists were killed during exchange fire with the security forces, adding that two commanders of the banned terrorists group were also among the dead militants.
The sources said that at least three personnel of the security forces were also injured in the clashes. The injured personnel of the security forces were shifted to CMH hospital. The security forces have started clearance operation in the area. The security forces also recovered weapons and explosive materials from the possession of the killed terrorists.
Meanwhile, dead body of policeman was recovered in Lakki Marwat: Wali Shah, who was working as OHC at District Police Office, was kidnapped by some unknown armed men last night. Last night, as he was returning home after duty, unidentified individuals abducted and subsequently killed him.
Meanwhile the funeral prayer of the martyred police officer was offered with official honors at the Police Lines. The funeral was attended by RPO Qasim Ali Khan, DC, and DPO. Officers from the Pakistan Army, civil services, and the martyr’s family were also present at the funeral.
