Services at the United States consulates in Karachi and Lahore remain suspended, according to the United States Embassy in Pakistan.
The embassy announced that all immigrant and non-immigrant visa appointments scheduled from today until March 13 have been cancelled.
Officials said applicants will receive new appointment instructions through email. The embassy advised applicants to wait for further communication before visiting the consulates.
However, the embassy confirmed that routine and emergency services for US citizens will continue during this period.
The suspension follows recent regional tensions after reports related to Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran. The situation triggered protests in several Pakistani cities.
Following the demonstrations, US authorities announced the temporary closure of visa services at consulates in Pakistan as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, the embassy has also issued an advisory for US citizens currently in Pakistan. It urged them to closely monitor local news and remain cautious while moving in public areas.
Officials added that further updates about visa services will be shared once the security situation improves.
