Pakistani security forces eliminated 10 India-backed militants linked to Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, while also capturing two female suicide bombers, during a pair of intelligence-based operations carried out in Balochistan’s Mastung and Surab districts over the last 48 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday.
The military’s media wing stated that the campaign against the Indian-sponsored terrorist networks operating under these two banners continues, with coordinated operations underway across various parts of Balochistan aimed at clearing out remaining militants and those who support them.
Details of the Mastung and Surab Operations
According to the statement, security personnel carried out several area-clearing and precision strikes in Surab and Mastung districts, resulting in the deaths of ten terrorists overall.
Of these, seven were killed when forces engaged terrorist hideouts in Surab district. In Mastung, three additional militants were neutralised, while two female suicide bombers and a facilitator tied to the India-backed Fitna al-Hindustan network were taken into custody.
ISPR confirmed that weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices belonging to the militants were seized during the raids.
Continued Counter-Terrorism Push in Balochistan
The military’s media wing said sanitisation operations remain ongoing to root out any remaining India-sponsored terrorists in the area. It added that the counter-terrorism campaign, carried out under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will keep operating at full intensity until foreign-backed terrorism is eliminated from the country.
These latest operations follow the launch of Operation Shaban, which security forces initiated in response to a deadly assault on a police checkpost in Ziarat. Security sources reported last Thursday that at least 129 militants have been killed since the operation began.
Earlier this month, at least 42 people, including both security personnel and civilians, lost their lives in three separate terrorist attacks across Balochistan, according to ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
The Balochistan terrorists killed in these latest raids mark another step in Pakistan’s sustained effort to dismantle India-backed militant networks operating in the province.
