PESHAWAR: A report from the Housing Department has revealed that over 90% of housing societies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are operating illegally.
The report indicates that out of 822 housing societies in the province, 495 are illegal, representing 60% of the total. Additionally, 247 societies are unregistered, accounting for 30%, while only 80 housing societies in KP are operating legally.
The Dera Ismail Khan division is the most affected, with 254 illegal housing societies reported in the area.
In a separate development, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued notices to eight private societies in Lahore for unauthorized use of the name and logo of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
