A Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday after a technical fault occurred during take-off, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said the Mi-17 helicopter developed a technical issue as it was lifting off, leading to the tragic accident. All personnel on board were martyred, and there were no survivors.
Rescue and recovery teams reached the crash site shortly after the incident and began search and recovery operations.
The military’s media wing said a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the technical fault that led to the crash.
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with all ranks of the Pakistan Army, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and extended condolences to the families of the martyrs.
