ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning of potential flash floods in local streams and rivers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, and northern Punjab.
Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution and take necessary precautions as the threat of flash floods, landslides, road closures, and power outages looms.
According to the NMDA statement, there is a heightened risk of flash floods in various regions of Balochistan, including Mastung, Lasbella, Kalat, Sibbi, Kohu, Barkhan, Awaran, and Khuzdar. Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces a significant risk of flooding, while in Punjab, areas such as DG Khan and the scenic hill station of Murree are also susceptible to flooding.
Roads in northern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are particularly vulnerable to closure due to heavy rainfall and snowfall, spanning from Mansehra, Haveli, Galiyat, Naran, and Abbottabad to Kaghan, Dir, Shangla, Astore, Swat, Hunza, and Skardu.
