ISLAMABAD: Amir Mughal, the president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Islamabad chapter, has been arrested ahead of the party’s planned power show in the federal capital.
According to details, Amir Mughal’s counsel, Asim Baig, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the PTI leader was arrested outside the DC office in Islamabad.
PTI has posted a video of his arrest on its official X account with a statement that Aamir Mughal has been arrested from DC Islamabad Office, just because he was asking NOC for our 6th July Jalsa.
It’s absolutely ridiculous and shameful how public officers abuse their powers against common citizens and carry out such unlawful actions and arrests, the statement read.

Previously, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted bail to PTI leader Amir Masood Mughal, who had been arrested and charged with terrorism at the Karachi Company police station.
It is noteworthy that the Islamabad district administration had granted PTI permission to hold a power show at Tarnol Chowk in Islamabad on July 6.
The Islamabad High Court dismissed a petition filed by Amir Masood Mughal following the issuance of the NOC. Justice Babar Satar, who presided over the case, remarked that the administration had already allowed the rally and that the party should avoid creating further issues.
PTI’s lawyer, Shoaib Shaheen, argued that they had not been given sufficient time to prepare for the rally. However, Justice Satar responded that the party was large enough to arrange the event in a few hours.
